Affiliate Terms

These terms cover the Aimosti Oy affiliate programme. They are short on purpose. If something here is unclear, ask us before you publish rather than after.

Who can join

The programme is invitation-only, and it is for businesses. You need a business ID and to be properly registered in your country (e.g. a Finnish Y-tunnus, an EU VAT number, an EIN, or the equivalent where you are), and you must be able to invoice us for your commission. We cannot pay commission to a private individual.

You must be an Aimosti account holder (create a new account normally and we switch it to affiliate status, which opens the affiliate dashboard); there is no sign-up form.

Before your first payout you complete the company details on your affiliate page: full legal name, registered address, business ID, the channel you will promote through, and any affiliate or referral partnerships you already run. We read them. Payouts stay closed until that section is complete, because we cannot pay an invoice to a company we cannot identify.

What you earn

You earn 20% of the net, ex-VAT/sales tax value of every report bought by someone you referred. Net means what the customer actually paid, minus VAT or any sales tax, so if they used a discount code, your commission is calculated on the discounted amount, not the list price. On a €89 WGS report bought at full price in Finland, that is €14.18.

Someone becomes yours when they create an account after following your link. You then earn on everything they buy for 365 days from the day they signed up. The window is long because our customers often need weeks to get a sequencing file before they can buy anything (though much of Aimosti's intended audience already has one). A 30-day cookie would have quietly cost you most of your conversions.

First touch wins. If someone was already referred by another affiliate, they stay with that affiliate, even if they later use your link.

You do not earn on your own purchases.

When commission is taken back

If a sale is fully refunded, or we lose a chargeback on it, the commission for that sale is reversed. A partial or goodwill refund does not reverse anything; the purchase still stands.

If that happens after we have already paid you, we will not ask you to send money back. It comes off your next payout instead, and your dashboard shows the carried amount so you are never surprised by a smaller transfer.

Getting paid

Commission is held for 60 days after the sale before it becomes payable. That is deliberately longer than our refund window, so money rarely has to be unwound after it has left. We may reduce the hold time on established partnerships at our discretion.

Once you have €100 or more payable, request a payout from your affiliate dashboard. The amount is frozen the moment you request it. That frozen figure is the commission itself, before any VAT you have to add. Invoice Aimosti Oy for it, and we pay the invoice total by bank transfer.

What goes on the invoice depends on where you are registered:

  • Finland. Add Finnish VAT on top at the standard rate, currently 25.5%, and we pay the VAT-inclusive total. Reverse charge does not apply between two Finnish businesses, so do not leave the VAT off.
  • Another EU country. Invoice without VAT under the reverse charge, and put both VAT numbers on it, yours and ours, FI36301454. We account for the VAT here in Finland.
  • Outside the EU. Invoice without VAT and without any sales tax of your own. We account for it here, the same way. You do not need a tax ID of any kind for this: we have no filing that would carry one. Put your EIN, UTR or equivalent on the invoice if you want it there, and leave the field blank in your dashboard if you have none.

We pay in euro, to an account that can receive euro. Inside the SEPA area that is free and the full invoiced amount arrives. If your bank is outside SEPA, as most of our US partners are, open a euro-capable business account (Wise, Revolut and Payoneer all give you a euro IBAN) and the transfer reaches you the same way. Converting to your local currency is yours to do, at a time and a rate you choose; any charges your own bank makes are yours. We do not deduct a transfer fee.

What will get you removed

This is the part that matters most, because we sell genetic analysis and the wrong sentence in a blog post is a real problem for both of us.

  • No health, medical or diagnostic claims. Aimosti re-analyses a genome file you already own. It does not diagnose anything, it does not predict whether you will get a disease, and it is not a substitute for a doctor or a clinical genetics service. Do not write, imply, or let a headline suggest otherwise.
  • No fabricated results. Do not invent example findings, screenshots or numbers. Use ours, or use your own real report.
  • No bidding on our brand. Do not run paid search on "Aimosti" or close variants. You would be charging us for traffic that was already coming to us.
  • No self-referral. Not your own account, not accounts you control.
  • No coupon and voucher sites. Your link is for your own audience, not for aggregators that intercept people already on their way to checkout.
  • No spam. No unsolicited email, no comment or forum spam, no impersonating Aimosti or implying you speak for us.
  • No false company details. The company information you file on your affiliate page must be true and kept current. Filing details that do not match the register you are in ends the partnership.

If you break these, we suspend the account. Suspension stops commissions immediately.

In the case of fraud

Commission is paid on real purchases by real people. Where we have reason to believe a referral is not that (self-referral, accounts you created or control, stolen cards, traffic you did not genuinely earn, or company details you filed that turn out to be false), we may withhold your balance while we investigate, including a payout you have already requested. We will tell you when we do it and what we are looking at, and we aim to settle it within 60 days.

If we find fraud, or a serious breach of these terms, the commission involved is forfeited rather than delayed, and we may end the partnership immediately. Where fraudulent activity has cost us money (chargeback fees, refunded sales, processor penalties, the cost of investigating it), we reserve the right to recover damages, by legal action if it comes to it, together with the reasonable costs of doing so. These Affiliate Terms are governed by Finnish law, and disputes are resolved in the courts of Finland or in your jurisdiction, at our discretion. You contract with us as a business, so the consumer dispute routes in our Terms of Service do not apply to this agreement.

Ending it

Either of us can leave at any time, for any reason, with no notice. If we end it, any commission you have already earned and that has cleared its hold is still paid out. We may change these terms; if we change the rate or the window, the change applies to sales made after we tell you, never retroactively to commission already on your ledger.
