What the science says
Lipoprotein(a) levels are largely set by genetics at the LPA locus and high levels raise cardiovascular risk. DNA can carry tag variants associated with elevated Lp(a), but the gene is complex, and a genetic proxy is not the same as a blood measurement of the protein itself.
