Strictly necessary

aimosti_session: your signed session cookie. It holds your account identifier and nothing else. Always on; the service cannot work without it.

aimosti_cookie_consent: the choice you make on this page. Set when you save it, kept for 12 months, and read on every page load so we honour the answer you gave. It carries your choice and the version of this notice you gave it under. Refusing advertising measurement is itself a decision we have to remember, which is why this one is strictly necessary.

Analytics

Our own analytics, running on our servers in Finland. It records which pages get read, where readers arrive from, and where they leave. No third party sees any of it.

If you accept analytics cookies, we set one first-party cookie holding a random id, so we can tell a returning reader from a new one. It holds nothing else, and scripts on the page cannot read it. Decline and analytics still works, just less precisely. We honour Global Privacy Control.

Set by Cloudflare, not by us

The site is served through Cloudflare, and the sign-up and password-reset forms carry a Cloudflare Turnstile check that tells a person from a script. Cloudflare can set its own cookies for that work, most commonly __cf_bm (bot management, about 30 minutes) and cf_clearance (records that you passed a challenge). They are security cookies, we cannot read them, and they carry nothing about your account or your genome. The Turnstile widget itself loads from Cloudflare's own domain, so anything it stores belongs to that domain rather than to ours.

Marketing

With your consent, we measure our advertising through Reddit. Cookies used: _rdt_uuid, _rdt_em. We share a click identifier, your IP address and user-agent, and the fact that a page view, registration, or purchase occurred, and for a purchase its value and currency only. We never share your email content, your genome, any health data, or the product you bought. See our Privacy Notice for the full legal basis and detail.
