BRCA2: what a pathogenic variant does (and doesn't) mean

If a report flags a BRCA2 variant, is that a cancer diagnosis?

What the science says

Certain BRCA2 variants are classified by ClinVar as pathogenic and raise lifetime risk of breast, ovarian and some other cancers. Risk is elevated, not certain, and most BRCA2 variants in the gene are benign or of uncertain significance, not the well-characterised pathogenic ones.
